About the Artist
Winner of Charlottesville’s Eastwood Farm and Winery 2026 Wine Label Art Competition, “Sunset Blend“
For me, my respect and love of the natural world is what drives my landscape paintings. Whether it is enjoying oils, acrylics, or watercolors, I perceive to present the narrative of nature’s light, colors, textures, and atmospheric tones. Plein Air lets me experience the intrinsic feel and the story of the moment and there is always an underlying story in the outdoors. I look for the small nuances in nature and express these in loose paintings or more intricate ones. I also enjoy studio time to build on these perceptions.
My intention in my paintings is for the viewers to see and feel the co-mingling of narratives that is present in the natural world. My paintings are fragments, frozen in time, that let the viewer connect and possibly evoke their own beautiful memories of nature.
My creative path started many years ago and life has been full of incredible family and friends. I am retired now and have started a most fulfilling second career in art. I am not new to painting but new to presenting my art to the public. Enjoy!
I am self taught and have attended a plethora of classes in oils and watercolors. I have had some incredible teachers.
I am a member of the James River Art League. More to come! Please use the contact form to inquire about purchasing any available paintings.
